Does anyone here have insurance on their dads car?? Cars like 406`s vento`s, carina`s, that sort of class.

My dad is lookin to change his car + i want to start driving. What sort of quote would i expect on a 1.9 406. Or a 1.9 Carina. maybe even a 1.9 turbo diesel.

Im 20 + have a provisional. Wud E1600 do it?? maybe cheaper?? Or wud they even quote me??

Two years ago, Hibernian charged €1600 for comprehensive cover for me as a named driver on my father's policy for a 1.3l Ford Escort. I was 20 at the time, with a full licence for 3 years. This year they wanted €2500 for the same policy (though I did have a claim inbetween).

If you're on a provisional and want to get cover on a 1.9 you're looking at big money even for TPFT, which your father may not want to consider for you on his pride and joy.

Why don't you ring a few insurance companies? Surely that would be more accurate than asking people on a website.
