Hi there. I'm thinking of buying a house in kentstown, near navan. It seems like a nice area, but I was hoping that someone could let me know if there are any current problems or potential future issues that I should know about.

For example, I saw fields for sale that were marked 'zoned for light industry' - are there any rumours of what future development might occur? One thing that attracted me to the area was the greenery and lack of pollution - I'd hate to find myself living beside some kind of polluting industrial complex in a year or two's time!

What about flooding - is that a problem in the area?
Or what other local issues are there?

Really appreciate your comments - many thanks for any help!

Hello there. I had a deposit on a house in Kentstown when they started up originally but pulled out when I realised they were building a Dump down the road. Investigate it yourself and see if it's still going ahead. AFAIK it still is going ahead.

so you'd have a dump one side of you and an incinerator on the other side. Not my idea of ideal living

    Thanks for all the replies.
Yes, the dump is going ahead and it's quite close to the house I was thinking of.
Sandwiched between a tiphead and an incinerator is not an ideal home. Shame, because it was nice otherwise.
    Oh well, the hunt continues.
    Thanks for the advice.
