It's hard to believe ER is 9 years old now. There's no programme I enjoy watching more on tv atm, everything about it is still first class and the characters are still a joy to watch. Sure the whole smallpox thing might have been a bit far fetched but other than that it's still a great great programme. Pity RTE seem to take massive breaks where they show Crimeline every now and then.
Oh does anyone know if Luca is gone to the Congo for good or will he come back?

They've started showing it after crimeline now. They saw sence. Also the 3 week break they had was because they had caught up with NBC in the states. The last episode is to air in america this Thursday. RTE are showing it on Sunday.

I think they should look at Carrie Weaver more so I always feel sorry for her, she has a great character, the bitch that you love to hate.

In relation to luca cheak out

i think it had REALLY gone downhill. last year you could sense the fog of Dumbed Down America seeping in through county's windows, now we're like, enveloped or something, ya that metaphor was goin nowhere. since mark left etc...and abbi's two dimensional o-she's-an-alco-with-a-weird-family character....i remember two, three seasons ago gettin chills up my spine EVERY ep. try watching the first 7 seasons to see some good tv, not this toned-down crap from people who think we're too stoopid to appreciate complex story lines. better yet watch, i dunno, third watch. o no thats gone to pot also.....

Yup, 'tis yet another US TV show that I cannot miss, generally great story lines, great actors, the whole lot really.
I think the episodes around Carter and Lucy getting stabbed were fantastic, I know it's only TV but you can't help getting drawn in at times.

Oh, and Romano is the greatest TV character ever, never shy of a few sarcastic/caustic remarks - great stuff.

    A few choice Romano quotes;

"Sweet Mary and Joseph would you look at the size of that gall bladder!_ Jeez, you could feed a small amish family for a week on that thing."

"What’s wrong, is Prince Harry in rehab again?"_ (To Elizabeth when she is crying.)

Nathan: Excuse me, you’re a surgeon?
    Romano: That’s the rumor.
Nathan: Uh, I think there’s something here you should see.
Romano: You’re a med student._ You haven’t learned to think yet.

Peter:_ I need to scale back my hours and I need it in writing.
Romano:_ To whom it may concern, no friggin way.

"You know, I always thought of you as a big man, but compared to Jerry you’re just sort of an ambitious elf aren’t you."

"C’mon upstairs sir where the good drugs are."

"Hey, Kerry. What, are you lurking around men's rooms now, changing tunes again?"

"I ordered liver an hour ago and haven't seen my waitress since!"

    And lots more here...

Apparently tomorrow's episode involves warring factions in the congo. Hopefully they'll pull it off well without it ending up too cheesy.

    Kudos.

What did people think of the episode last night? I thought it was pretty good but the music was a little over the top at times. It didn't really end on a cliffhanger like the last series like I thought it would but it was nice not to have to wait months to see what happens like the last time. That was one nasty place to work though, it's no wonder Carter left as quickly but I got the feeling that Luca would be staying there pretty much for good.

have they made another series or will we be waiting for ages to see what happens. I usually don't like those on location episodes but it was pretty good.

Oh one thing I want to know is why the writers have had it in for Dog Magoo's this series. First the staff there were killed then when it finally reopened it was burnt down in a fire that was never explained. What was going on there?

The same thing happened with Friends. There was also a 3/4 week gap in the states in march/april when there were no new Smallville episodes.

Could Easter knock all those shows off for that long?

As far as I know most american television stations don't show each show every week, unlike here. Usually its 3 episodes per Month and then there's the holidays. Its away of spreading out 22 episodes over the TV Season up to Summer.
