Come on lads, recommend me some hi-quality dvds,
I'm sick of buyin dvds that only have the film and the producers notes, so is there any good dvds out there with a good few extras?

Blade 2 has got good extra features, with a funny enough commentary from both wesley snipes and guillermo del toro, and the usual suspects special edition dvd is good too, any others?

PS Any chance of this being stickied?

Hannibal, has acre's of commentry and extra features, I know its not a great movie but has loads of extras. Including an alternate ending....

Oh and while I think of it Enemy At The Gates has some good extras too, also a good movie.

The film of 'My Little Eye' wasn't to everyone's taste, but the DVD has a pretty cool and unique feature - you get to watch the film in "interactive" mode. So it's really like watching the stuff happen live, on the web.

Nice way to watch the movie.

    Never asked for movies solely,
    asked for DVDs in general.

Monty Python & the Holy Garil is one of the most complete DVDs (that has a fantastic feature, of course!) I've seen yet. Smoogly-oogly, loads of stuff, although the commentaries are a bit pants.

Jay & Silent Bob Strike back is great for extras, too, but it's rather niche. In it's way.

The League of Gentlemen Christmas Special is another one, but a) the League seem to be one of those love it or hate it things, and b) it's May :p

Spaced series 1 & 2 both have really good commentaries and a fair smattering of deleted scenes, and the sitcom itself is genious.

There's a Have I Got News For You? best of compilation thing doing the rounds as well, which is good. Commentry's is pants, though, since it's Paul Merton and Ian Hislop commentating on Paul Merton and Ian Hislop commentating on the news, but there's a good little "trivi-text" feature, and the compilation itself is hilarious if you've even a passing interest in British politics. Or just abject surrealism.

as a general rule, apart from the odd excepetion, steer clear of the Warner brothers films in cardboard boxes if you're looking for special features.

    exceptions are : training day
    the matrix..

The Usual Suspects one is really good, nice gag reel.

Cabaret lets you jump to songs - I know thats not very technologically astounding but its very handy.

I agree with whoever recommended the Holy Grail.. the Lego and the karaoke are great.
