okay, so i took the .dbx files manually from outlook, copied em and put them on a disk.

how the hell do I restore the .dbx's into outlook? it doesnt seem to work.

got em into outlook express okay, but seem to be missing some folders and emails.

ok firstly dbxs are mail folders in outlook express..

this is the way you could do it..

import the directory of dbxs into a new profile in outlook express (this would distinguish new mail from old mail)

then open outlook and choose import and export from file menu bar..

    Import Internet mail and addresses

    choose outlook express 4x,5x etc

    select destination and select finish
(if prompted for profile select the profile of the copied mail)

oh and this time backup the pst file in outlook

it has a backup and archiving agent in the application,
    which is very useful
