PBEM - SLA Ind. (Role Players wanted)

Hey Guys
Just want to get an idea of numbers before i start anything. Since moving down to cork i haven't been able to find a Role playing group near me (im way out in the county not the city) so i figured that the best thing to was was to start up a
Play by Email game. I'll be setting one up on boards.ie if i can get the numbers,

I would ideally like about 6 to 8 players and its as simple as posting your your game turn on boards.

Rules, charachters sheets etc will be Emailed to people as soon as i have a rough idea of numbers. I'll leave regestration open until this friday the 16th. if i can get the numbers then i'll set everything up

I'll be running a SLA ind. RPG and i will need you to be able to post Min of 2 turns a week (i am aiming for 3 a week)

if it is PBBT it means that more people can see what a wonderful job you are doing in crafting the story and directing all the players well bar me

So having considered Wraith raider againt Brain waster , i'll have to be a Brain waster cos the Red and Grey matter spray are Sooooo Pretty .

Indeed it will be a PBBT. I'm gonna setup three new threads once i get enough people together one for the game turns and one for ingame conversations between players and DM's and then one out of game conversations for any other jibber jabber you want to say or any questions you want to ask

i'm also going to setup an Email address too that you can Email the game turn too if you can make it onto boards to post.

i could even run it with 4 people if needs be.

Regestration is open until friday so tell your friends tell your imagenary friends.....

so with you in there's a max of 7 places left.

What is SLA ind?

Played PnP D&D, i assume its something similar but might use different rules or something. Gimme an idea of what it is an ill let ya know if im interested.

SLA (pronounced Slay) industries is a RPG based in the distant far future its a cyberpunk type game where the the entire universe and all its belonging's are the sole property of SLA industries. the food you eat the air your breathe the house's you live in all belong to SLA. the own everything.

you play agents of SLA industries (think CIA or NSA) specially trained to deal with situations that are too hot to handle for mere local forces (its a bit like shadowrun if you've ever played anything like that)

the best way to describe it is think of it like a cross between starship troopers and total recall.

you have to complete missions (BPN's) to earn cash and experience to move up level's (security clearance levels SCL's)
within SLA the higher you get the more respect you get and you'll get access to better missions etc.

there are 7 playable races in SLA all of which i will send out documentaion on to you if you want in. the only thing you need is to pick a race and a charachter name and i'll generate you a charachter and do the rest

you can count me in i spose. Only problem is im doing exams at the moment and may not be able to give alot of time to it. Will be finished on the 18th june so after that wont be a problem.

Ill talk to some of the lads i play DnD with. One or two of them might be interested

No Problem i can understand sure its gonna take me some time to get all the stuff together anyway. we dont have to kick this off until the start of june anyway.

and if you cant make it in time to post i'll just make your game turn for you. im still writing up descriptions of all the playable races thats gonna take me another week anyway, plus it might take some time to get the all the players on board.

can you PM me your Email address and once its done i'll send you the basic description of all the races that you can play.

Haven't played any futuristic games since Traveller and Paranoia (oops...showing my age now) so it could be fun!

Not familiar with SLA so would be interested to see more info. Any good resources on the web?

Sorry im gonna be away until next tuesday i'll have a ll the material for you then web links to resources and alot of word pro documents typed up with the explaiation of all the races and charachters in the SLA universe

if you go goolging for "SLA industries RPG"
you'll get loads of sites and the offical site (which doesnt have much is: nightfall games)

hope this helps for now the game will begin once everyone is happy with the game and rules (which i'll supply)

im working on nights at the moment i'll be finished in a few days so i'll get everything sorted then

but things are going along nicely i have 3 of the 4 charachters generated and the history of SLA alomst written. so i plan to start the game sometime next week ok

no probs sorry i should have mentioned its an open ended Regestration you can join anytime you want the game will start on thursday so im sorry but you'll miss the first turn or too this is to anyone interested in playing you can join ANYtime you want to just PM me your interested in playing and PM me your Email address i'll send you all the details of Races / charachters you can play plus a breif word document on the background and history of SLA industries.

it will take me a day at the most to Generate your charachter and you can start playing then right away, the only rule i have is if you really are genuinly interested in playing you'll need to post at least 2 (im aiming for 3) turns a week. should get the game moving along nicely.

Currently we have 4 regestered players you and your friend would bring the Squad up to 6 which is a nice even number and normally squads range from 6 to 8

it basically keeps the thread somewhere at the top. But I don't think that's necessary anymore cause when we're starting now, at least one of the RPG-threads will stay around the top as we'll keep posting in the threads.

I think hobbes/lolth/rev will be keeping an eye on this anyways
