Do you talk to your pet?

We've got a dog, and I have to admit he's the one thing that never fails to make me laugh. Even when he's done something bad (and he knows he was bad!), he looks at us with the funniest 'I didn't do it' face so I give out to him but I laugh when I turn my back. Anyway, I always talk to him when I'm out in the back garden. He's such an attention whore, and he knows damn well :)

Anyway, what pet(s) have you got, and do you talk to it/them?

    It is what it's.

Yeah, one of mine does that too. It's not actually uncommon.

Damn right, I have a Jack Russell, and I figure she could talk back if she could only speak. If you even just spell out W-A-L-K or mention the lead or the car, she knows damn right what youre talking about (although these days shes doesnt get too excited). Most of the time she picks up on the non-verbal communication, senses that its dinner time, senses that youre about to go out the door, senses that its bed time and dogs pick up especially on the tone of voice.

I don't really talk to my dog, annoy her yes. Just general teasing and making her bark. *shrug* It's fun.

    Dog : Dusty

talk this this bitch all the time. either its buy routing and just reading my body language but she knows exactly when and where to give me "the greetings". which for the Jack Russel is made up of her entire body wiggling like a lazy snake. not just the tail, but all of her. and of course the standard COVER YOU IN DROOL. Baby and 3rd person Talk apply.

    Cat : Tom Curtin

this animal is far more reserved and "cool", so i have more mature conversations with it. but when it was young used to greet me by hitting my nose with his one. kind of an eskimo kiss but more of a *bonk*. propably was blind or something

Oh, yes I talk to my dog. If only he could talk back if he had the vocal chords. He has this weird way of knowing when I am down and does his best to make me laugh at him. I've laughed my ass off at him constantly for the last month more so than I have done in the 9 years that we have had him.

Thought: Do dogs dream in technicolour?

    K-

My old cat, Sprocket, seemed quite capable of understanding certain phrases...mostly the word dinner. But yes, I did talk to her from time to time :)
