    And how did it mess up?
    I tried it with long numers too and it still worked...

    the four digit number adds up to 18
    so if u have 5157 and circle 7 , ur left with 515 , that totals 11 , subtract that from 18 and u get 7

    incidently if ur left with 1233 and circle 3 , it takes the number as 12-3 which totals 15 , subtracted from 18 leaves 3

    simple really...............
