    From Teamtalk
Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has been named Supporters' Player of the Year by the club's fans.
The 25-year-old was the clear winner of the six week-long poll held on the club's official website.
Steven Gerrard was second, while Michael Owen was third.

I'd go along with that, wouldn't have thought he'd be the clear winner though.

Well he has been the most consistant. Owen and Gerrard would be the usual suspects but they both had poor patches. That's why I voted for Murphy anyway. Would have thought Hyppia up towards the top as well seen as how he has been our only consistant defender this season.

Owen certainly does his job, i'd probably have given him the no 1 spot followed by gerrard then Murphy or Hyppia. Baros certainly could be in the top three next year if GH gives the lad a decent chance in favour of heskey.

Murphy will never get the acclaim of Paul Scholes but he's just as important in the Liverpool scheme of things.

12 goals out of midfield is a good result.

    Mike.

was gonna say the same thing, that cracker against 'ton was his 12th, v.good return from midfield, I don't think that LFC should have had a player of the season though, no1 performed consistently well, i'm not knocking their effort just the return on that effort,

    Murphy for his 13th 2m!!!

I have to say that I dont rate Murphy at all. Murphy is not a top 5 premiership player imo, and as long as Liverpool continue to play players like him in their team, it will be some time 'till they win the league.

As for Liverpool's player of the season .... I honestly dont know. I cant think of any player who has really stood out this season. I suppose Owen should get it for his goals if nothing else.
