i've always used standard rotosound strings.

they are pretty reliable but i want to change my brand, just for variety...any suggestions?

what about the ernie ball slinky ones, they any good?? what strings do youz use on yer basses and why?

why are strings so bleedin' expensive?

I use D'Addario. True they're mad expensive but I never managed to break any. I'm just changing them after a LONG while coz they don't sound bright anymore. If you are broke, you can also boil them in a pot with water and plenty of salt, then they sound like new!

Use D'Addario now but will probly switch to Ernie Ball Slinky's, cause, ya know, Ernie Ball  ppffftt..

seriously tho i found my new d'addarios sounding really dead after about 2 months (the type i got were the pink box, long scale, soft something, cant remeber..)

It's about €40 for a 5 strings set so I guess it will be 30/35. About the sound getting dead soon I don't really know because my sound is always very dark and deep... I'll give a go to Ernie Ball's too then, if they're nearly as good as their basses... ;)

I find stainless steel strings sound nice and aggressive when new. Nickel strings dont sound as bright, but last longer cos you dont notice them getting duller over time as much as steel ones. I'd recommend GHS super steels, quite nice strings.
