Recording software?

    i'm wondering does anyone know of any good, free recording software for recording from a tape to computer through line in. it would need to be able to record it as .wav or .mp3

    i think goldwave is free...

    do a search on download.com, most of the software there is freeware/shareware

    total recorder is quite good, think its shareware tho but you might get some use from it

    you can get a prog call CDex from download.com, its has a wav recording function, and its primarily an MP3 encoder, so there you go.

    theres no fancy eq or anything though, just streight wav recording.

    failing that, start menu, run: sndrec32 I dont know how to get over the 30sec (or whaever it is) limit though.

    worked well for me, left a tape running for about an hour, came back , had a huge ol wav file that i cut up into mp3's

    I use CDwave. Its free, its small and simple. It can also chop up the sound file recorded into individual tracks based on the gaps of silence between tracks. Which is a huge time saver. Then I tag the files using MM Jukebox.
