What's the best rollercoaster you have ever been on ? Do love em or loath them. Have you any funny stories ?

Post pics of the beast to back up your claims...

    Here are my top 3...

    1. The hulk - Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando, Orlando, FL

    2. Kraken - Seaworld Florida. 151 foot of sheer terror

    3. Montu - BuschGardens Tampa Florida.

On another note the fastest and tallest rollercoaster is been built in Ohio with speeds that reach 120 mph and is 420 feet tall. The current record is just over 100mph and approx 240 feet.

Try AIR in Alton Towers. A turely upside down experience - similar to Superman I think.

Nemesis is pretty good. Over much too quick though. I couldn't go on air last time as I was ill ;) . On my birthday too I might add.

The coasters in the Us are way better than the UK though.

1, The Hulk - IOA, Orlando, Fl
    2, Air - Alton Towers
    3, Montu - Busch Gardens
    4, Duelling Dragons - IOA
    5, Oblivion - Alton Towers
6, GM Test Track - Epcot
    7, Nemesis - Alton Towers

    Non-Rollercoaster Award - Spider-man, IOA, Orlando, Fl

The reason I chose Air was because the ride experiance is truly unique compared to others carraige based riding.
Oblivion gets a good placeing even though the ride is very very short those few seconds drop are teh scariest moments you will have in any rollercoaster.
GM Test Track while not strictly a roller-coaster is in my list because it is on a track and goes at a good speed however it has no inversions.

Spider-Man kicks all the roller-coasters asses for sheer enjoyment and astonishment at the ride's technology. An amazing ride and one that all should rush for at the opening of the parks.

In my opinion if you are going to a theme park for just roller-coasters then Alton Towers is your best bet, however if you have kids you may want to visit some of the American theme parks for a mix of themeing and good rides, for this Islands of Adventure is best.

Also, if you are going to any of the parks during summer try and get there before the gates are open and as soon as they open rush for the busiest and usually best rides. When I was at IOA we alternated between rushing for Spider-man and The Hulk depending on what we did the day before. We managed to get on to the front of the Hulk pretty quickly each time we went on it.

If you plan on going to Alton Towers try and go in the October months, the park is very quiet and you can get off a ride and just hop straight back on to the front carraige. They also have a great Halloween night celebrations incorparating fireworks and the chance to go on the rides in the dark for a unique experiance.

I was on one in Fantasialand in a place called bruhl in Germany. It was in the dark and it was like you were in space, you wizzed past stars and planets, weird thing was that you came out into a place called petit paris, it was a recreation of old streets in paris with restaurants and shops etc(it was also designed as if it was night-time) It was quite big it must have been some huge building because when you looked up you couldn't tell if the sky was real or not.I think fantasialand is germany's answer to disneyland, good though.

I have to agree. Def the best "non rollercoaster ride". The 3D was superbly done as well as the interaction with the scenes. Excellent ride

I would have to agree Islands of Adventure was the best theme park I've ever been to. Alton Towers is like a kids playground in comparision. The whole "Marvel" area is so cool.

We went in January. It was dead after about the 6th when all the US folks went back to work.
