    (This maybe the wrong place for this.)

    I have several colour jpegs that I want to convert to a monochrome (blue) in Paint Shop Pro version 7. I've no idea how to do this and the help file is confusing at best. Can somebody tell me the best way to do this please?

    i'm no expert by a long shot, so anybody with more experience feel free to shoot me down.

    i'm using PSP5 so some of the options might be a little different.

    open up the pic.

    go to Colors -> Grey Scale.

    go to Colors -> Increase Color Depth -> 16 million colors(24 bit)

    go to Colors -> Adjust -> Red/Green/Blue

    adjust the red, green and blue to your preference. almost no red, about half or just less than half green, and a little more than half blue. mess about with it for a while to get it how you like.

    It's the same with ver. 6. Not sure about ver. 7, but in ver. 8 (beta) you use the image menu rather than the colour menu.

    One thing I would do different, would be to use the channel mixer to bump up the blue channel individually rather than the RGB levels of the whole image, tends to be a bit more precise I reckon.

    Thanks guys

    What I did in the end was

    Colour -> Grayscale
    Colour -> Increase Colour Depth -> 16 mil colours
    Colour -> Adjust Colour Balance

    This did the trick. PSP 7.02 for anybody interested.

    Not sure if this is any good to ya now,

    but think its similar to what your looking for...

    goto colourize (shift +L )

    and thats it. :S

    i say you have more control with that other way but if your doing loads of images i think doing the colourize is the quickest.

    OR

    if you want to get a more precise colour applied or you don't want the whole image to be that colour use the retouch tool and apply colour to in its options.
