Hey, was wondering if anyone has heard any progress in regards the assassinations of Putin's rivials last week? To me the news seems awfully blank, are these more steps of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's reistablishment of the soviet era fear in Russia? All the victims were shot in the signature KGB hit marcove (or how ever one spells the bloody word) to the back of the head. What did Putin used to be? A KGB officer.

    marcove
    Markov (since you were asking)

There has been talk of suspending the next set of presidential elections in Russia but Putin actually - which is the only way he has a chance in hell of keeping the communists under Gennadiy Zyuganov out of power given the resurgence of the 'old ways better days' nostalgia. And of course given that Putin is from the same school as Kryuchkov, he may very well have the ability to pull off such a coup this time around.

Eh, a friend's friend worked for Coca Cola franchise in Russia and the had an ex-KGB guy on the staff to handle security (they had a separate contractor for "security" and debt collection). Would you also suspect Coca Cola of assassinating these people?

Oh the FSB never left town.

And after that he became head of the FSB, then became prime minister and then president.

On the other side of the coin, Bush Snr. was head of the CIA.
