Yes yes y'all...comin' atcha from the first ever Netsource@home connection! Took me about 2 hours on the phone with a very helpful Joan from Netsource to get up & running (I think my modem is intermittent or just plain cr@p).

Anyway, I've just pinged jolt.co.uk and it returned an impressive 30ms average...I'm off to check out the download rates!

    Later

I started annoying Nicola waaaay back in April, I think the order went through when I faxed the bits 'n' pieces off on the 13th, line was activated yesterday, got the details off joan@netsource.ie today...still no kit in the mail but I can live without a phone for the next few hours!

    Just downloaded the Terminator3 trailer...sweeet!

My Netsource connection is a god damn mess. I can only reach speeds of 7kps when I'm downloading stuff, the connection sits idle for ages and usually drops after about 5 minutes. Netsource aren't even open until Tuesday so I won't be saved until then.
If someone could help me by showing how all their tcp/ip protocols are configured on the lan and bb connection on windows xp I'd be incredibly thankful.

Pings to clarity.jolt.co.uk average out at 32ms, and boards.ie at 47ms!!! A tracert explains why; no matter where I'm pinging, it goes off to the uk before returnin to Ireland or wherever! Ker-azy!

As for ppp etc. it's all mostly set to auto or 0.0.0.0, except for the 2 DNS servers I mentioned in another thread... dude with the crap downloads, are you on XP Home or Pro?

P.S. all the settings you need, I posted in the "Via/Netsource...?" thread

Hmm, screenshots would be better if you have windows xp home like me so I can make sure that it's all done right. I need both the tcp/ip settings for the lan and for the bb connection as well as any other needed information. Thanks.

    PPPoE/LLC
    VCI 35
    VPI 8
    PAP
    DNS: 212.17.32.3 (.1 for secondary)
    Bridging off
    Subnet mask to default (255...etc)
    UBR

Default Gateway in windows should be set to the IP of your router. Have windows automatically assign an IP address to your comp. DNS servers are impotant (above). No proxy of any description in IE.

    That is all.
