Ireland have arranged a frienfly against Australia for August 20! Should be a good test as Australia seem to have a decent team at the moment. They've beaten Scotland & England fairly recently.

After the match they gave england...it will be a stiff test...What is it about Australians and sports...They are just the most competetive people EVER

Should be a good run out all right especially with the likes of Kewell running at your defence.

Yeah... hopefully it will be a good run out for the team. Austrialia have already shown that they take friendlies fairly seriously, unlike Norway. So it should be a good match. :)

Its a freindly who cares who wins or plays.
We have 4 other games that aint freindlies and are a lot more important than Kewell running at our defence.

I know its JUST a friendly but it'd be very interesting to see how we fair against a team who stuffed engerland at home ....

I do think friendlies are important too .... it allows younger players to be blooded and given experience and it helps the team by giving them soem sort of competitive runaround .... I did think making 11 - 12 substitutions in a friendly a bit ridiculous , but I think Kerr has gotten a good balance and will use these friendlies to benefit team building and team morale .....

Reckon lots of open space and plenty of sunny days has alot to do with it to be honest.

I would fancy us against them, I mean cmon, it was only for gods sakes.

It's about 3 weeks before our home game against Russia. Waste of time if you ask me. We'd be better off playing a friendly against a team whose style matched Russia or Switzerland if we are to learn anything from it.

Switzerland like to play a fast, counter-attacking game, or at least thats how they beat us before Christmas. Thats what Australia seem to like too.
