Paticular tastes

Just wondering how many people have a paticular type of person they always will go for and are never interested in anyone whom is not of that specific type? I find my friends are content settling for any old thing once they get their blood up, but I find it impossible to be attracted in any way to anyone outside this exact type. Is this ok, or am I the only person like this? I don't think it is a fetish but wonder if it is some kind of obession or are other people as picky as me?

I have a preference but I'd still go for people outside it. Still, it doesn't make you nuts. Just picky.

I don't think I have a type..... aside from 'good in the sack' maybe

Nope. I don't have a type..it's a case of I see someone and go yeah or no..and this could be any kind of person.

Which makes life more interesting, methinks

Never used to have a type, but I am in the process of developing one. I think it's OK to have a particular taste so long as your flexible not to pass up on something thats not exactly your taste but thats pretty tasty anyway.

i always seem to end up with people who have blonde hair.

My hair is really fukd up. My hair is black but as the year progresses towards summer it turns light brown with patches of blonde. My entire body hair is blonde and my facial hair is blonde/brown. I must be a rarity.

Actually I seem to have a disproportionate amount of girlfriends who are either foreign or of mixed ethnicity.

Perhaps this is some sort of freudian pseudo oedipus complex... where I want to kill Eamon DeValera and marry Margret Thatcher.... then again... maybe not.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,263 ✭✭✭Caesar_Bojangle

technically speaking de Valera can be placed in the foreign/mixed ethnicity bracket. He was born in america to an irish mother and spanish father who was most likely a spanish sailor. So in old speak, he was a true bastard sent home to be raised by his grandparents.

I only seem to go for petite women with black/brown hair. Blondes are so overrated but [strong kerry accent] durty [/strong kerry accent] in a nice way

I agree with Kell, I think you kinda develop a 'type', I think its just as much who you would rather not be with as much as it is who you would like though!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,446 ✭✭✭Havelock

I am very open minded and liberial in everything, always willing to try new things, except when It comes to this topic, I simple can be attracted to anyone outside my "type". Maybe I should explain my type, which may show other associated problems.

Pale skin, long elegantly worn hair, expressive fine features, lively playful eyes (of any colour, just need to be enchanting). LeFayish (Elvenish) in figuire, confident and smart,, sharp sense of wit and humour. Piansts hands and impecable dress sense (tasteful classy clothes) and great legs. Usally a A or B cup. NO make up, or lip stick and eyeliner at max.

Not being a little to percise am I?

    I would concur with that.

I've never been with a red head or someone with blonde hair.

    *shrug* dunno why.

Nearly every person i've been with has had black hair, again i dunno why.

    As for a type....

Yeah I'm definetly a 'type' person myself. Certain characteristics (espically hair - colour/length/texture) will raise/lower my interests immediately no matter what she looks like otherwise.

em....precise?! dya think?! man you gotta wake up a bit...seriously it sounds as though you have a specific girl in mind and because you can't have her you are out to find a substitute! like maybe Liv Tyler?!!!

The type of girl that when you first look at her you just know she's most likely a bit of a bitch. Awfully pretty though, except first thing in the morning:) I really must learn to listen to my 'inner voices'

I'm used to be kinda picky at the start of the night, but it's a sliding scale. Slides depending on alcohol consumption, time of night ("early yet" or "uh oh last orders") and any previous "encounters" :ninja:

Someone mentioned a certain individual, none that I can think of. I fall into a very romantisted fantasy love when I do, don't get obessive or creepy about them though.

Was wondering about the development of my tastes. As a child my favourite novel was Dracula, the first on screen girl I liked was Jennifer Connelly in "Labyrinth" and Audrey Hepburn in her more rebellous independant roles gave me odd thoughts at the age 0f 10. All this was before this taste thing happened. I have a vivid imagination, and if I replace my "type" in my fantasies I am unable to be interested. Is it possible to have a fetish of a type?

I only find I have a type when goin out with someone who's not quite my type and then I start noticing how all her friends are\have potential to be my type!

Perhaps just a subconcious excuse in my mind to finish these relationships

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,942 ✭✭✭Mac daddy

we all have our dream woman, but lets face the chance of her coming along is slim, sometimes you have to go a little outside of what you would, but for everybody there is a perfect match, it just a matter of when, keep your eyes open.

In the past I certainly had a physical type. My height, brown or green eyes, dark hair (that's most of the people I've gone out with - friends reckon most of the girls I've gone out with since I was 16 have been related in some way to each other (er, they haven't, btw)).

These days I like the idea of someone who stimulates me (in a mental way), understands and appreciates sarcasm (& irony) & doesn't mind me ranting on about something unimportant every once in a while. That's about it really.

My last gf had blue hair for a while, she's driving a truck full of rock-climbers around the world.

Personally I don't really have a type. I've said this before but I go for: relatively attractive, not a psycho and can shut the feck up and comfortably share a silence.

I have learned to avoid the best-looking women in a group of friends like the plague. They're WAY to high maintenance.
