There is definitely such a cable... I have one! As far as I remember I got it in Dixon's or somewhere like that for about 20 euro. If you are stuck and can't find one, I'm almost sure I have a spare one (5 metre) lying around at home somewhere. I can check tomorrow if you like.

Get this yokey and get the cables seperate.

thats exactly what u want. ask 1 of the lads in peats. u want the thing in the link & 2 phono cables. each of the cables has 2 plugs on each end, u only need 3 of the plugs on the scart end & 1 of them on d other end. u can plug 1 of the others into ur pc audio port if u want to have the sound play from the tv.

far as i know peats have tons of svid + phono cables (bundled) + scart- svideo convertors in the bargain basket upstairs, bought myself 4 of em 2 -3 weeks ago and they were there for quite a while b4 that, nice gold plated ones too i might add, think there should be a few left

think i paid bout 4 euro for the gold plated svid inc stereo lead + scart convertor

    --- i like bargain bins :D ---

bought a HD caddy up there too a few weeks back for a fiver, said on it that it wasnt working, turns out the power key was missing, cost of repair -- 2.50 euro

Power City has a Universal DVD to tv kit that has every thing you
    need including cables to 10euro

    The kit contains

    Gold Plated connectors
    5m 2 phono to 3.5mm jack lead
    5m 2 phono to 2 phono lead
    5m s-video to s-video lead
switchable scart to 3 phono and s-video adaptor

Sev that's most likely due to your source or your TV not being capable or not setup to transmit/receive an SVHS signal (SVHS encodes brightness/contrast and colour information separately so if the source and tv aren't both setup for it you lose the colour signal).

    I have this one:

Last time I tried it, it gave a colour signal alright.

But my new TV has a direct s-vhs input and when I try using that I get a black&white picture only :(

Edit: Just got the colour working, had to change AV options from "AV" to "AV/S".

@Sev: You need to do a little research on this to sort it out. I remember coming across reports of such problems when working out how to carry out my own setup (pc ->video sender -> remote tv).

I think it may well be something to do with whether you have output set to either PAL or NTSC. I'm vague on it but know that its related to this. When its set to one, you will get black and white output...

I picked one up for about €10...

Just be aware that the length of the cable determines the quality of the picture so dont get a mad idea to pipe videos from you pc to the other end of the house. I would say anything over a foot and a half isnt going to work that well unless its a seriously good cable...
