Just a few questions about the above:

    A) do you get the full 512k/128k un like a 56k modem with adsl ??

B)If you where to say split a 512k/128k connection between
5 would get a sufficient connection to play games such as say starcraft? all 5 playing

C)can you easily and cheaply break up the connection to say
102.4/25.6 per user? having 5 users

Any reply would be gratefully appreciated

    a) wtf?
    B) Esat, Netsource yes... Eircon.. probably not if everyone is using at the same time.
    c)No

512 is max bandwith.. YOU will not even get that as before you share on your own network you are sharing that 512k with a possible 48 other users on any of the radsl packages out there...
You cant specify bandwith like that yourself. Its shared on a first come basis i think..

So lets say you had the whole 512 to yourself. no one else in area has it... Then your 5 users would share it and use what is needed. You cant specify!! You woul dnot have 5 users on at the same time would you? Unless its a business in which case get a business package and not RADSL

Bandwidth is shared evenly to each user on most connections

    C) You'd need some sort of bandwidth throttle program, or a more expensive router that supports this feature. EG, give 3% of bandwith to Lan address 192.168.0.7.... give 30% to Lan address 192.168.0.8 ..... etc etc

get a bandwidth monitor like DuMeter and see how much bandwidht you use on ur own then divide it up

Eircom probably bought their copper wire from Steptoe&sons though.... The 11K difference is probably frying the worms as it leaks out!

I used to have constant +75kbps in sweden with 512.

    64 *8=512

    75*8=600

    I guess you had 600kbps & not 512!!!
