    Man Utd turned a reasonable profit in their last set of results, didn't they? And then of course there's Real Madrid, but they can be discounted given the manner in which they're run.

    Real make a huge loss, they nearly went bankrupt a while back only the local council bought either their stadium or training grounds from them for a huge price and promptly leased it back to them for next to nothing... thats government support

    convienent allright, but the iberian set up is like that thought isn't?
    I know in portugal sporting club lisbon has a cycling team, basketball, etc, a pattern repeated in every city, i think there's government support involved with that too
