Lump - doctor immediately?

I've found a small lump beside my scrotum (near where it meets the pelvic bone area).
it's not *on* my scrotum or near my balls so I don't think it's anything like testicular cancer, but then again, i'm not a doctor...

It's not particularly sore, it is not near the surface of the skin, but it is slightly raised.
I think it may be some sort of cyst or something.
Anyone know what it might be?

    Could it be an STD?
I hope it's just something benign and that it just goes away :)
Bit worried at the moment to be honest.

I have one in my left breast (yes guys have breasts, you never watched fight club :p ) got it seen today and was told to see a surgeon.

So go get it seen, even for your own peace of mind. it's no harm

I would definitely go see a doctor immediately. I may just be nothing but I don't think its worth taking the chance.

If it is testicular cancer (and I think the area you described is part of your scrotum, if I understood you correctly) its extremely important to get it seen to. Testicular cancer's one of the most treatable forms.

Apart from that I've no idea what it could be. Like I say, it may just be something totally harmless, but please don't take the risk.

Yeah, go see the doctor. It could be something as simple as a blocked pore that became infected or it might genuinely be a cyst (whether benign or cancerourous). As far as I know testicular cancer tumors are actually attached to the testicle.

I don't know of any STI it could be, the prostrate usually stops infections getting far.

could just be a swollen lymph node, even a hernia... but def let some1 have a look, all the better if they have a medical qualification ;)

No no don't listen to these losers.

Wait and see if it turns into anything interesting.

I hear that if the doctors catch malignant tumours early you can miss out on all sorts of interesting stuff.

    Simple choice:
Potentially feel silly (after doctor says it's nothing (tomorrow)) and be slightly poorer OR really feel silly (after doctor says it's something (in a year or so)) and be less a testicle or be dead.

I'd rather lose the 40 odd euros.

    or be dead

wow there horse...calm down a lil.

IFF it is anything, it's easily curable.
You can make do with one nut anyway.

True, but if it is testicular cancer, and it becomes metastatic, the lymph drainage of the testicles goes directly into the chest, which means it could easily take root somewhere else. Better safe than sorry.
