    Does anyone remember lolo balls?

They consisted of a ball (surprising eh ;) ) with a bit of plastic around the middle. You were meant to stand on the plastic bit and hop around the place for hours on end.

    Brilliant !!!

werent they a covert attempt by the government at curbing population growth?

I seem to remember that by the third bounce you would probally be heading uncontrolably through a window or into a canal.

How about those footballs on stings that were supposed to teach you passing skills but usually after the third kick you would punt it and it would return with the deadly accuracy of a bolas.
I think they were advertised by Kevin "bubble perm" Keegan

I remember both LoLo's and those elasticated footballs, although I only had firsthand experience of LoLo balls.

My mate Kris had one- his drive was covered in tiny little pebbles though, resulting in aforementioned LoLo scooting out from under you at random angles. Very painful.

My sister had one and the thing was lethal. So I punctured it...

oh my god, why did you have to remind me.

When my bro was 3 and I was 6 I convinced him it would be great fun(and that I've give him a packet of fruit pastelles) to jump off the couch on to a football on top of a lolo ball.

He did, and he spent 3 days in Loughlinstown hospital....

I never really owned up to it, but he remembers :(

I remember those yokes. Never had one though. My wise and wonderful parents obviously realised how dangerous they were. (That and they didn't want to shell out for another toy only to be broken within the hour!)
My Granny's neighbour had one though but I could not get the hang of the damn thing, resulting in many scraped knees and much tears.
    Happy days!
    :)

i remember um, great fun. i wonder was there really such thing as pogo-stilts, like on the simpsons.

my brother had to get an operation once cos one of his balls wasn't quite lolo enough.

never muched liked the lolo balls but the soccer balls on a string (or in a net) were just about the best thing ever.many a time i walloped the ball and on the out of control return it would clatter some unsuspecting friend of mine. Hours of fun.

Them lolo-balls used to go soft very easy and then come flying out of the plastic circly bit when yer not expecting it, and banjaxing yer ankles. They were a bit gay though. Ever try standing on a lolo-ball on a skateboard on a space-hopper ? I did it going down a hill once being towed by my mate on his Raleigh Burner...nah i made that up, would be trés cool though!

Ah yes... I even remember the colour of my lolo ball! Blue ball with black plastic ring. I loved mine! Hours of fun after the novelty of my friend's computer bike wore off!

God, the computer bikes! I thought I was the only one who remembered those. In fact, I thought they might have been a figment of my imagination or something I once dreamed about but weren't actually real! Thanks for reassuring me, Sandi, that they did exist and I wasn't going mad.

As for the lolo balls, a neighbour of mine had one and split her head open when it sort of slipped out from under her, as they tended to do on gravelly surfaces. She had to go and get stitches in her head and all. Bloody lethal things. Sometimes I wonder how so many of us 70's and 80's kids are still alive today, given the lethal toys we were given to play with! :D

I guess they were pretty lethal. I know I fell off my lolo ball several times but I never injured myself.

Computer bikes were deadly...well, at the time. And they were really easy to cycle without holding onto the handlebars... yes, I was trying to be cool! And i never fell off either!

Lolo balls, no theres a memory. Got 1 for x-mass, and ended up having competitions in 4th class, seeing who could stay on the longest. I won.... must have bounced all the way through lunch. We had to count aswell but cant remember how many I did. Well over 1,000. Ohh if only I could b that easily pleased now.
I saw them in a shop last X-mass, trying to make a come back, dont think it worked!
