im realy sick of both eircom and esat and would love to switch to utv but i remember from a few months ago that isdn pings with utv were very poor about the same as 56k pings(140ms+)

i remember utv said they were looking into it
so did they improve it much?
i use my net connection for gaming alot so low pings are important
id like to hear from people that have utv+isdn and play games like cs and dod

they tried to do some tweaking there yesturday to get lower pings but it went all horribly wrong and now the pings on isdn have doubled

    here's a ping I did yesturday:
    C:\>ping clarity.jolt.co.uk

Pinging clarity.jolt.co.uk [195.149.21.11] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 195.149.21.11: bytes=32 time=140ms TTL=245
    Reply from 195.149.21.11: bytes=32 time=110ms TTL=245
    Reply from 195.149.21.11: bytes=32 time=131ms TTL=245
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 195.149.21.11:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 110ms, Maximum = 140ms, Average = 95ms

thats on 64k isdn with internal PCI isdn card (asus). To be honest the ping issue has never got any better since I signed up last year. Yesturday was by far the worst it has been. Normally the results would be 70 or 80ms

I'd get netsmart same ping as normal isp's.

thanks for doing the pings ando
its a shame they havent sorted this problem utv sounds like a much better company to deal with than eircom or esat

i used to have nolimits working with isdn and that was ok it no longer works and there is nothing i can do as it never officaly supported isdn
does netsmart officaly support isdn? i cant find any info on the esat site about isdn + netsmart

    40ms.. how depressing :(

I usually only use up about 80 or 90 hrs a month on the internet, I should of gone with netsmart
