    Tap:
    Start Menu
    Settings (Menu Item)
    Connections (Icon)
    Dialing Location (Tab at bottom)

Tap New... and enter Mobile as new location name
Make sure Area Code box is empty
Make sure Country Code box is empty

    Tap Dialing Paterns...
Make sure only G is entered into each of the three fields (Local, Long Distance and International calls)
    Tap OK (top right)

Now that your Mobile dialing location is seleceted it will only dial the number you enter into the settings for a connection

Once again brian, im in your debt!
    Thanks a million,

Do you know off hand if two people can use the finger print thingy on it or does it only recognise one persons?

    glad you got sorted :)

the Biometirc software is designed for one user, although you can add several finger templates, so I don't see why two people couldn't sit down together to enrole fingers from each person. Best to allow pin/password entry to allow access incase of scan failure though when you are testing it out

HP put a white paper together you may be interest in browsing through [PDF]
    ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/papers/5981-4266en_rev2_us.....pdf

hp aimed this model at the enterprise - main reason for including the fingerprint scanner was to work at resolving the sitation where 'IT Teams would refuse to roll out PDAs on the basis of weak security'*.

is fingerprint biometrics secure? - well like most security features it's just another line of defense, Tsutomu Matsumoto's research [PDF] hit the headlines last May when his 'Gummy Fingers' caused a big stir...

Microsoft Put a Site together (mainly with content written by their MPVs) called Club Pocket PC which has a lot of Columns and Support content

if you know any specific reasons he is getting it (what applications / tasks / functions he wanted to use it for) then i will try and get you some other info
