Curious about SL1210s??

I've been arsing about DJing for 4 years this summer. I've had gigs here and there, but I'm hoping to devote more of my time to my hobby. My last kit, a old set of Numarks did me justice over the last few years, though I haven't used them that much since I finished my last residency just under a year ago.

Anyway, I'm thinking about splashing out on something decent, namely some 1210s. What I'm looking for is something that will last. I mean my Numarks were bought new, and quite franky they're sh1t when compared to technics, but they did last, so I feel happy that I got my money's worth.

So my question and the reason for starting this thread is: Have SL1210s come down in price in the last few years. The last time I checked you could get a new set for just over a grand (in € incl. VAT, carts, etc) for MKIIIs. Also are MkIIs any cheaper? (or are they even still available).

What is the cheapest price anyone has seen for 1210s, or actually has anyone seen any decent package deals, incl. Mixer (preferably Pioneer)??

Anything you can suggest is really appreciated?

also as far as I'm aware, SL1200s are just silver versions of 1210s (yeah?, so are they still charing more for the novelty?

    cheers
    ;-phobos-)

Check this out . I was thinking about buying some new, and you can get them a whole lot cheaper from the US. Postage was quoted as $80 which is brilliant, so you should be able to get 2 brand new decks for under €900!

I've bought a fail bit of stuff from the US and never got charged anything more that I expected. However the most I have spent on any one item is $350. Apparantloy if you get them to mark is as a 'gift' customs won't check it

Please correct me if I am wrong

Yea, I heard that too "gift" or "free sample"
But sending 2 x technics would be a fair bit of weight for "free sample" but gift might work saying its from a family member.. would that site send them as gift do you know?
and have you ever gotten any us site to mark as gift for you?
