What sorta points/scores do people have to go up from the mocks?

    I gotta go up

    English + 8%
    Maths + 7%
    History + 17%
    Classics + 15%
Ap. Maths + 20%[not sure yet]
    Physics + 30%

Tough, spending so much time on physics its crazy :/

Yeh Im putting a huge amount of work into Physics aswell, hoping to move it to a A2 from a B2,
The physics coarse is stupidly big, all those experiments are a joke imo. Whats the point in mandatory and non-mandatory, you still have to learn them all anyway. Yes I know they're in Section A.

I hoping to move up around 30-40 points

Looking for another 15% in classics too...... hrm... Alexander dragged me down... grrr...

Anyone have any reassuring stories about how much better their actual results turned out to be?? And the amount of work involved.. :(

    I need them... Please....

heh, i've got to go up about 70 points, i got 330 in the mocks, looking for arts so thats around 400
tbh i did absolutely nothing for my mocks, and irish is the only paper i bothered to complete, so meh.
need to go up about 15% in
    classics
    biology
    french
    geography

now dont you all feel better

    of course i left out
classics - 25% of the paper
french - 50% of the paper(25% of overall grade)
geography - 25% of the paper
biology - bout 25% of the paper

i should really work on my attitude towards this...

I don't know why you're complaining, the old physics course was longer and more difficult (and easier in ways). All you've got to do know are learn a few poxy experiments (not hard), definitions (easy marks), a few formulae (only 20 or 30 there) and about 7 or 8 easy derivations (we had tripple that in the old course).

My tip, and it's just a hunch is to learn all those derivations, I don't think a single one came up last year so theres a good chance you could get 40 marks for something that's very easy to learn.

Ummm excuse me, but there is 70 formulae.

Its all well and good saying easy marks for definitions, but you still have to go and learn them and god knows how many of them there are.
There is also 27 mandatory experiments, plus a hell of a lot more other ones.

Note: Light experiment didnt come up last year so LEARN!

I tripled my score from my mock results to the actual leaving result, and yet, i still know deep down i coulda done even better.

mocks mean **** all, unless the papers are gotten from the printers, if its a set exam from your teachers it means didly, cause in the l.c whatever u write down is worth points.

Easier for some but harder on smart\maths based people

(more people doing well -> harder marking for top people, and I've been lead to believe you past syllubus folk had three of those answer 8 out of 10 questions?!)

I got 345 in my mocks but was pretty sick for those and wont
be for the LC. And I umm need 345 points so I really don't
    get to complain.

I do need to bring maths up by 10% though

Im assuming, having not received my applied maths mock results yet, that I did 570-580 in total in the mocks, so I figure im pretty safe for my 500 mark goal. But I got 2 dodgy borderline 85% A2s, so I cant be too confident.
