It's very unlikely you'll get one over the counter here, in the UK InCognito and Firebox.com both sell them but may not have the model you want. Buy direct from shop.lomography.com

As a Hasselblad user, you might be surprised to hear that I think these Lomos and Holgas are fantastic [for a particular type of photography] and would love a Holga myself.

Post your results when you buy it !

well thats why I say "for a particular type of photography".
If you're looking for top quality images, well thats a different story altogether!

There is a stall in the George's Street Arcade in Dublin which may be worth checking out. The guy that runs the stall regularly imports used kit from the old Soviet Union.
I have never seen him with a Holga, but he has had Lubitels, Kievs and the like.

I've never actually bought anything off the guy, just looked and talked. He has been there for quite a while though. Don't know if he offers any sort of guarantee, just ask. Even if does not, it would not be that much different from a buying privately (Buy & Sell), ie. you should check the camera well and satisfy yourself all is working.

only way to check it , is to take a photograph and develop it :)

I've got a Lomo LC-A, a Lomo Lubitel and a Holga with flash.

I have a little hatred going with the Lomographic Society. I got suckered in to buying an LC-A from www.lomography.com, only shortly afterwards finding out how much they rip people off (the LC-A's used to sell for $25 once). Unfortunately, if you want a new LC-A, you're going to have to buy from them in one way or other because they're the sole global distrubutors outside of Russia. All the same, I absolutely love it.

As for my other cameras, I bought those off eBay. My Lubitel (medium format job) I got from a guy in Ukraine - it's in grand condition but the one I got does tend to get a sticky shutter at 1/250. It's a great camera though. That thing set me back $45.

I bought my Holga from a guy in Hong Kong who sells them nearly right out of the factory. It arrived brand new, in perfect condition within one and a half weeks (less time than from lomography.com) and I bought that for $30. Cost price of those things is roughly $15 but mneh. Lomography.com charges $60 which is a rip off - I mean, who really needs a little book, a poster, a fancy box and a roll of film you can get anywhere anyway?

That guy in the George's St arcade is way over-priced. Just get something off eBay but make sure the seller has a high/power rating.

And for the record: I love toy cameras. I think the blury kind of pocket camera photographs are often times more interesting and attractive than the cold precision of a Hasselblad or Bronica etc. But amazingly sharp pictures are great too! Plus, they're cheap!
