ive installed Peanut linux on 2 machines now.

When I install LILO, I can boot any windows partitions OK, but it wont load the linux one!!!

The only way I can get linux to load on these computers is by putting in the installation CDROM and typing linux root =/dev/hdxx

any ideas what could be wrong?

    thanks

ok now after about 14 attempts of installing LILO it seems to be working.

im confused, this time I installed it on the root partition AND the MBR. I may have done this before TBH, but its working now.

It wasnt a 1024cyl problem do you think?

Im more confused now than before!!!!!

Post your liloconfig it's kind of difficult to guess at what the error is/was without seeing that.
