Maintaining quake.ie servers - another thankless job

Take me away from packing my suitcase would you?!

Okay, at last we've cleared up the fact that the quake.ie servers
are run by IGN personnel in their free time, maybe you could lay
off the abuse and we could get down to giving the best service
    possible.

I've had a lot of messages and chats with people on-line over the
past few weeks from people who think I work for Indigo or TiNet or
something, and look after the quake.ie web pages and games
    servers on that basis.

Nope, wrong. I am a student FFS! All the work Conor (helping
out at weekends and evenings as an IGN member) and I have put
into the servers has been in our own free time. As Mouserat has
reminded me, the hours I have put in have been much to the
neglect of my real life, work and otherwise. I cannot wander on
to IRC these days for fear of a dozen requests to add this map,
change this setting, try this mod. I even have to play Quake with
a new alias, for fear of the requests plague. My mailboxes are
a nightmare, I have 2000 messages in each of my In and Out trays,
all related to Quake from the past number of months (no, I am
not on some weird mailing list, these are individual messages).

"But surely you get something for maintaining these pages and
servers" you may say... Yes, I do have a free dialup account,
but being a student I do not have a PC so it is of little use. All
the time I put into quake.ie is done from college, often very late
at night, or very early in the morning (I was setting up two new
servers at 8 am today, zipping up pak files, ftping directories,
    before the latest scandal broke).

The new Quake server fast enforced by Conor will give those newer
recruits out there a taste of what things were like in the early days
outlined by Mindphuck / Eric in a previous post. Not pretty.

Enjoy it. I'm off to Japan.

    Cloud.

Run everyone!! It's time for us all to pack quake in.

I have found out from a secret source (as usual who will remain nameless), that Cloud Warrior is
actually going to an isolated mountain in northern Japan to train with the Fukoka tribe - the mightiest quake ninjas of them all!!!

This trip is of course funded by the thousands of pounds he gets every week from Tinet for turning on a few computers each day (can't be too hard).

With this vast fortune he is going to buy himself the skills that hours of quke didnt cultivate.

He's going to kick everyone around at quakelords now.
