Saw this on Saturday... if you liked Shanghai noon you should love this one. I love the tie in with historical characters. I wont say more as it might spoil it.

However before the movie, there was a short.. like when i saw the Recruit there was a short on Racism. This short was called Sunday munch and features a family scoffing food on a sunday and eating till they drop. no one at the cinema was impressed (liffey valley). I thought it was intelligent in a stupid way, i figured it was showing us the traditional Sunday meal and how out of date it is.. set to Verdi’s Anvil Chorus from ‘Il Trovatore’. Music was cool.. anyway they all keel over after scoffing enough food to feed Iraq. So i figured it was showing us to eat in moderation and crap like that. It gives a web address at then end.. www.sundaymunch.com i just checked it.. its got no message or story at all  Its just a load of crap it turns out... ah well!! The credits were more interesting!

Yeah Shanghai Knights was very good alright. I hadn't seen the original but am gonna rent it after seeing that.

About that Sunday Munch thing. What a load of codswallop. It gave me an idea for a short film though.

Shanghai Knights was fun. Sunday Munch was terrible - the food looked unappetising, undercooked and made me feel nauseous. Not the best thing to show in a cinema where they are trying to make money from selling popcorn etc.

Saw the racism short a few weeks ago too. Not bad, but not great either. I liked the Dublin bus driver, though. :)

There was another short a few weeks ago - I can't remember what it came before, though. It called "Nobody home", I think. It was just a view from a window, shown in fast forward, with some people leaving messages on an answering machine. Very strange.

I ****ing hated that. The ads already started 15 minutes after the films supposed start time, then that **** came on a further 10 minutes later. I almost got up and walked out. We were late meeting the lads afterwards (mostly the fault of the cinema) partly because of that ****e. Badly produced, half assed, patronising drivel. Made me want to become racist just to spite them.

Shanghai Knights was excellant, i laughed till i cried at one point, of course, i was kind of.. intoxicated.
But you have to say one thing for Jackie Chan and thats,
sure he cant act for ****, but he's one hell of a fight choreographer.
