Everytime i try a Windows Update ( I have Windows 98SE) i get an error when its finished scanning for updates. Internet explorer crashes and the file thats caused the crash is winspool.drv. Anyone have any ideas?

Try reinstalling the file.. its printer related (all files with spool in it usually are!).
Start, run, type "sfc" (no quotes). Then just specify the file instead of searching. File should be located in \windows\system32
and should be copied from your windows cd - x:\win98
(x is your cd drive letter!)

    Also possible trojan.. try here
