    Martin,

I think the McIvor controversy centred around her bid to compete for NI in the Commonwealth Games.

I don't think her eligibility to compete for the Republic was called into question.

    Now I could be wrong...

Catherinna McKiernan Unison Article - Registration Required.

Hope it works out for her she seems to have had a really tough time with injury. Seems like there is a lot o be learned about how athletes can avoid injury based on their individual physical characteristics. Speaking as one one who suffered because of my ignorance.

    Hi Ed,

I think the importance of the ECAC and the IC4A's have been diminished by the introduction of the NCAA regional qualifying meets. Hopefully Ray Treacy is holding athletes back to compete in the regionals rather then injury problems. I notice Liam Reale did not compete either.

Anybody else out there that can enlighten?

Well done to Catherina McKiernan on her victory in the Sportsworld race yesterday. Another milestone on her comeback - Pauline Curley 2nd and Valerie Vaughan 3rd. So some decent athletes in her wake. Incidentally good interview with Catherina in yesterday''s Sunday Tribune by Paul Howard.
