Are there any songs which just make you... i dunno want to dance/move, regardless of where you are?

More me I get the urge to mosh for "Smells like Teen Spirit" and "Lithium"

and I get the urge just to dance for "Hotel California" and "By the Way".

    Anyone else?

(and please dont do the stupid: "yes" and list every song you ever heard.... keep it short and to the point)

These songs arent even my favourite songs...

Nothing. I don't dance / move/ anything ever, unless Guinness is involved, in large amounts.

BUT if I WAS going to, it would be Monarch of the sleeping marches by Disincarnate.

    Or 'Embodiment' by Carcass.

Repli: Where would you be that you hear all those??

The reason I rarely dance is cos I'm never anywhere that plays anything I would dance to.

Ehh try whelan's on a thursday night.. maybe not those specific songs but they play a lot of rock

I went to Whelans a good few times, the heaviest I heard was the Deftones. This was in the midst of a lot of drivel.

Hmmmm, I was in...er....the other place in Dublin that there is to go, my friends decided they'd get me to dance so they asked the Dj to play Carcass' Heartwork or whatever....and he said no. It was too heavy.

    Then he played Slayer.

    Does.....not....compute......

Actually, Haircut 100's Fantastic Day makes me dance. The sheer exhuberance of it all....

oh dont be shy, we all went to fibbers. OK for me it was about 6 years ago, but still................

anyway for a DJ that wont laugh at your "heavy metal " request - you should really hit Bruxelles on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday - and even if there is no DJ< there is always the jukebox full of a wide selection of bands

Cradle -> Carcass -> Anthrax -> Tool -> Paradise Lost

I mean, they even have a blasted Christmas album on the jukebox if you know where to find it its album 00 just guess the songs like wham, wizard, etc, hehehehhehehe

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,698 Mod ✭✭✭✭Silverfish

I still go to Fibbers sometimes.....nine years, girl and woman!!

The whole 'oooh oooh I'm freakier than YOU are!!' vibe about the place bugs me though.

Bruxelles is my second home. Or would be, if I still had people to go there with, as it stands one Thursday a month is all I can wheedle people into going there......

AC/DC's Stiff Upper Lip will get me every time. It just has a "get down and boogie" quality to it.

anything by pantera (esp. mouth for war. had the dj at my 21st play it and all my auntys and uncles were giving out, great stuff), or fear factory (particularly demanufacture), or slayer...

oooh and the haunted and kreator (the later stuff)... faith no more...

oh and one song thats played regularly when i go to not so heavy clubs... killing in the name by RATM

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,208 ✭✭✭loismustdie

if i could still appreciate teen spirit i'd say that but after that remix and 12 year olds who don't know nirvana moshing to it, not to mention dj's who play it and seem to know no other nirvana i can't look at it the same.
greenday - basketcase is good for it
