I dunno if anyone else heard this, but on Pat Kennys prog today John O'Shea of GOAL was talking about the
Democratic Republic of Congo to which the Irish government sends about €40million pa. The money should be feeding ppl but is being used for arms.

O'Shea wants Ahern to stop sending the money and to have a word with Blair and Bush about intervention in DRC.

The latter part caught my ear as O'Shea is against intervention in Iraq but he said such is the scale of the disaster before central Africa that action is required.

The civil war which involves 6 nations and a lot of precious metals has claimed the lives of at least 3 million and maybe as many as 4.7 mill in the last 5 years.
