Off the top of my head I'd say it would have to be the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500.

I used to go to Oulton Park with my dad to watch the Saloon Cars championship (precursor to BTCC).

The grid was all RS500 Cossies. The best ones were the Australian Andy Rouse prepared cars. Rated at 600+ Bhp they'd have to throw away the blocks after the race (and the YB Cossie block is bloody strong).
