This is a Graphic novel I've read recently by Mark Waid.
It's based on the premise of passing the torch to a new generation of DC superheros, and the conflicts that lead from this.
The artwork is crisp and clear, with a well blended flavor of what-ifs and speculation.
    Recommended 4/5.

Ah you wouldn't even need a recommendation for this one.
I've not ready it yet (for whatever reason) but it's one of those ones that I really want to read.

The artwork is brilliant even from the promo's i've seen when it first came out. The story sounds great.

Just must go buy it some time. Which reminds me - I have "God loves, Man kills" lying in a box upstairs...must get around to reading that sometime as well :D

Aren't there two versions of this? The painted one and the other one?

Anyway, it's excellent from what I remember.

The painted one is the original series and is supurb. there was a follow up that wasn't painted and the name was Kingdom something-I-can't-remeber. Not near as good.

The follow up was just called The Kingdom and it was nowhere near as good. The Offspring issue by Frank Quitely was the best of the follow up.Some of the art for the rest was well dodgy

Y'know what I was VERY happy to see on rerelease in Sub City a few weeks back... That Yellow Bastard. But that's neither here nor there...
