Regi, I think this may be because I removed the pagebgcolor references from the standard redirect template once upon a time, this was to allow me to have a blank pagebgcolor so that the background images would show through in other templates but there is this side effect - I'll fix that and see if the "bug" disappears.

Edit: Fixed.
