Recently I felt like reliving some of old more particularly
    "impossible" C64 games....

Finally finished that blasted C64 Cauldron game! Another ghost lain to rest. With the help of unlimited lives (and loads of alt-load and saves in winvice) I managed to get all ingredients to kill that (Daddy) Pumpkin... but then the little runt of an offspring went off to make a sequel... and I have no intention of following him there. Cauldron II is maddening even with unlimited lives or not... I might try Parallax next.. one I always wanted to finish.

Note, for all my efforts (vastly reduced with unlimited lives) in Cauldron the ending goes:

    The Pumpkin is dead
    Long live the Pumpkin!

If I had known that back in 1985!

Yes that was one **** of a game which I never got near to finishing when i had my C64.

I did exactly the same thing with China Miner about a year ago. One solid Saturday afternoon of 30 levels of insanity with saving after practically every platform past. Again, totally crap ending along the lines of "Congratulations".

    I hate Ian Gray.

    I might try Uridium next.
