Is that not a stuffit one? SouperComputer - why don't you just do a seach for the file extension on the web. For the images that you have on the PC? What are they BTW?

Hi I have JUST solved this problem : :D:D:D:D;)

I mounted the toast image in Daemon Tools but windows still didn't understand and said there was no CD/DVD in the Daemon Tool drive.....

....then, leaving the image in Daemon Tools I opened ISOBuster, got the raw data and extracted using the "Extract Raw But Convert to user data" (right click option). This extracted the image as a .tao file.

I then renamed the file to .iso and used Nero to burn it and all was fine!!!!

HOPE THIS HELPS PEOPLE!!!

    are toast .dmg files?
are the burned discs actually readable in a mac?

i remember windows not being able to do this at all

Dunno about Toast. But nero on a PC can copy Mac CD's and burn Mac format CD's. done it in the past. Dunno if current versions can still do this though.

maybe .toast allready are just iso files? Ill be trying this later tonight but for linux identifies this one just as a standard disk image. Cetrainly not a wierd proprietry format.

    [ant@ant images]$ file dvd_image.toast
dvd_image.toast: Apple Partition data block size: 512, first type: Apple_partition_map, name: Apple, number of blocks: 63, second type: Apple_HFS, name: disk image, number of blocks: 2128440,

Edit: Yes confirmed. .toast are .iso. either rename or dont rename. just burn.

renaming extention .toast to .iso, worked in nero before for me on a few disks ... and didnt work on others... no doubt it depends on the content
