Strange lights in sky? UFO??

OK a friend of mine said he saw a UFO the other night (thursday). It would have been Dublin west and over Ballyfermot or Clondalkin area.

What he saw was bassically 4 lights hovering in a sort of square formation.

Anyway he was getting into his car and they had been over a field... he just opened the car door and when he looked again they were in a different part of the sky, a good few miles form where they had been.

Then They all flew off in different directions.. slowly at first and then within 10 - 15 seconds they were gone over the horizon and out of view.

Personally i think it was the fact he wears contacts! They may have been reflecting off some light source or of there was something then maybe choppers or something. At the very most some secret US jet from shannon :D

Anyway point of thread.. did anyone see anything like this??

I saw a ufo before. It was like a long triangle shape, with lights all around the edges. There was no way it was a plane. Way too big. It was moving around in strange maneuvres and then took off at a frighteniong speed. My mam said she read something in the paper about a ufo spotting club who were expecting a ufo that matched my description. Spooky or what?

your friend should lay off the drugs before getting into his car imo :p

Actually that was a plane in all likelihood... cant think of the name of it.. something like Aurora project.. yeah thats it.. anyway its a very big Hypersonic plane... You know what hypersonic is right? Its like the test nasa tried recently but it failed.. anyway it goes at crazy high speeds over mach8. It is essentially a Triangle.. more so than the stealths.

Sure its even possible you saw a flying wing... which is a triangle shape and its pretty massive!! They have been around for decades.

    Oh and
your friend should lay off the drugs before getting into his car imo
He swears he was off them!!

I actually saw one before.. i may have posted about it... I say UFO in the terms of it was flying and i could not identify.. i am under NO illusions that any alien spacecraft has entered our atmosphere.

Anyway it was about a year ago and i was out the back with my Telescope looking at the planets.. then overhead i saw this large birdlike shape shooting across the sky. There were no lights on it and no noise. Also unlike most birds it did not flap its wings!!
As far as i could see it was bloody big, too big to be a bird anyway. Even the fabled Thunderbird with a 15 foot wingspan is not as big as this. Anyway it was also very high up. It would not be bigger than a passenger plane as far as i could tell. It was no passenger plane since there wasno lights or sound.. I dont know what it was.. maybe it was a bird after all, a bird that glides as opposed to flaps its wings.. like a seagul or something.. and the size thing was just perspective... the only thing is it seemed to be going too fast!! It was a clear night so i could not get any perspective from the clouds. I did not have time to move the scope as i only saw if for about 10 seconds before it was out of view. It was cool but i did not go nuts about it.

Why was he looking in the sky if he was driving????
Proberly checking for the Garda Helicopter..... as the car was robbed......
You and your friend are safe from Alien abductions as you are both UGLY......

This sounds closer to the truth
Anyway it was about a year ago and i was out the back with my Telescope looking at the neighbours daughter .. then overhead i saw this large bloke shape shouting at me across the sky. There were no lights on . Also unlike most blokes it did not wave his arms As far as i could see it was bloody big, too big to be a bloke anyway. Even the fabled Big Daddy is not as big as this. Anyway he was also very high up. he would not be bigger than a elephant as far as i could tell. I felt safe since there wasno lights or sound.. I dont know what it was.. maybe it was a Elephant after all, a bloke t waving his arms.or something.. and the size thing was just perspective... the only thing is it seemed to be going too fast!! It was a clear night so i could not get any perspective from the clouds or telescope I did not have time to move the scope as i only saw if for about 10 seconds before the neighbours daughter was out of view. It was cool but i did not go nuts about it as shes not a great looking chick but the big bloke turned out to be some nut who was into star gazing,

me thinks you have problems horndog, invest in some friends.......

seen 'ufo's' before, well me and a bus load of mates did....small circular lights doing mad shapes across the sky, if they were planes they looked they were climbing and diving and then shooting back and forth across the sky, went out of wiew after a few mins.....

    logical explaination:
Turns out there was a fair on in some small town a few miles off and they had these moving lights that shone into the sky, that darted back and forth and up and down, and every 5-10 mins they changed position..... i bet a lot off people were caught by that one....either that or me and me mates are really dumb...

oh and there was that time i was abducted by aliens and taken to the planet muglog, but i wont go into that .... (cringes at thought of rectum exploration)

Maybe its one of those Boeing Bombs as seen on Joe Dirt.

Well I can assure you contact lenses do not cause strange reflections to be seen by the wearer :)

Also, the Aurora... erm... somehow I doubt they'd be testing it over Ireland tbh. And it think it was a low-level aircraft? I could be wrong but I think it was designed to fly like 10ft over the ground/water at hypersonic speeds.

    Built using alien technology, naturally.

Actually Pie, Aurora was a high altitude plane capable of traveling the world in 3 hours! It could almost escape orbit, or maybe it is supposed to... not sure... but its something like 60 miles about earth or something like that. I was watching something about it last night.. but since its scetchy and top secret there is only so much info.. Google it.. there is plenty online including pics, or artist renditions at least.

Oh and contacts if they are not in right or if are dry and so on can indeed cause that sort of thing.. i had some for years before laser surgery so i also know they can cause it.. maybe it depends on the person though.

Saw a big silver rocket thing in broad daylight one day.
Imagine a passenger plane stripped of all paint etc. till it's metallic then remove its wings until it's like a big weiner.
Was travelling at some speed very high up and disappeared when clouds blocked my view.
It was ascending slowly but more horizontally than anything. Too low to be a rocket launched from another country and far too big.

i saw a silver cigar shaped thing which made no sound and seemed to land somewhere but i couldn't find it. it was broad daylight too. a few of us saw it so i wasn't imagining it

I've seen a bunch of stuff in the sky that I can't explain, the most freaky of which being lights in the sky that darted ALL over the place, going at impossible speeds. Very like what the original poster describes in fact.

Hmm, it's been a while since I've thought about this stuff, I'd only ever read about it in magazines and heard from friends before tbh, but I just google'd it and alot of those Aurora pics appear to be pics of the F-117 test craft, "Have Blue".

Also, it would appear that the Aurora project has mutated into the "Dark Star" aircraft that is currently in use in Iraq (it's just a recon plane).

Then again, I'm not the soberest of people right now so again I could be wrong :)

Yeah, supposedly the Aurora leavese behind a unique looking vapour trail, which i happened to see one day. Ive never seen a civilian aircraft leave such a trail.

Yeah Lex that was mentioned in the dicovery thing... Also the noise is not like an airraft, its more like an earthquake and you feel it more than hear it.

Its most likely those lights that the weather people shine up at the clouds. Seen it a few times in west dublin.

read a short article in the Examiner yesterday that some folks in Sweden reported seeing a UFO, it was like a fireball in the sky, which fell to earth.

Local cops went to investigate, and found an incinerated cat at the bottom of an electricity mast.

Seems that the moggy climed the mast an touched the wires, caught fire and fell to the ground.

will see if I can google the article.
