Dehydration and Dreams

I was away for the past two summers in the states on a working holiday. The weather was amazing (late 30's C) and the craic was ninety! WE went out on the piss nearly everyt night of the week and drank an unbelievable amount of booze.....mostly beer.
We didnt drink enough fluids during the day as in water even though we would be sweating bucketloads. Some days we even drank beer all day long.

I know this was really unhealthy but we were young, nieve, and just wanted to enjoy ourselves.

The thing is, myself and all my mates had such weird dreams during that time. Im talking seriously fcuked up nightmares and psycho dreams. I talked to alot of the Irish pisshead students I met there about it and they all had similar dreams.

Is there a correlation between dehydration and dreaming?

Does someone need to paint you a picture?

Many things will affect your dreams and combined alcohol (a poison) and dehyration would be one (were they mixed with lack of sleep, irregular sleep, change of environment, change of diet, recreational drugs and other changes in behavior?). Eating cheese in the evening can cause vivid dreams.

    so true!
I never have nightmares, but I was on hols with me bloke in france and we had a wonderfully tasty goats cheese after a big dinner, the nightmares we had that night!! I lept right out of the bed and across the room, terrified!!
