I've never been much of a fan of Rugby but that was some match!

Two lucky wins in a row for Ireland indicates to me that fate has put our name on the grand-slam. Tis just meant to be.

Ireland didn't play anywhere near they're best.

Defo need to shape up before England.

Boys Own stuff! O'Gara off the bench to win a game the Welsh deserved to take the points from...again the attacking play was fitful at best, England will walk it I fear. Unless the Irish get such a shock when they watch the game back and a few important things are put right like scrums and first tackles, y'know basic stuff!

Good point, Ireland have stumbled thier way to victory
so far and if they beat England it'll be cos England
"let" them I suspect, watching Jason Robinsons pace and movment was nearly scary!

Sure it's all part of a big plan the celtic nations hatched to cripple England before the world cup. England will now come over full of confidence again only to choke yet again at the last hurdle. Thats my theory and I'm sticking by it :-)

Just in case though some tackling practise might be in order (and I'd be MUCH happier with O'Gara playing against England)

Terrible game up until the last 10 minutes IMO. Fell off the couch just before Stringer kicked it out to finish the game.

Thought it was all over when Stephen Jones kicked the drop goal for Wales. Fair play to O Gara, I'd say he's over the moon. Ireland are deeply mistaken though if they think they can beat England with that level of play.

[edit] Just saw a poll on Rugby.ie about whether Justin Bishop should be alloowed play for Ireland yesterday (old poll). I thought he played his hole off but didn't seem to make much of an impression? [/edit]

i guess it wasnt the best preformance, though deep down i really like the welsh and their passion for rugby, id hate to see them getting the wooden spoon, however it would have been terrible losing out on the grand slam at the last moment,

still it shows how far we have come as a team when we can go out and have a bad preformance and still win

we need shane horgan i think, i dont think we need kieth wood that badly shane byrne has put up a mighty preformance, girvan dempsey would also be handy

the worst thing is that these guys havent had any match practice

Have no sympathy - they hammered us off the park enough times in the 70s and 80s. Welsh rugby will be back, this is our day for once.

As a welshman I demand some sympathy! We haven't beaten you in Cardiff for 20 years now - will be 22 before we get the chance again.

Needless to say I'll be cheering Ireland on from a distance on Sunday. Its a shame you have had to cope with so many injuries, particularly up front where there are probably as many second choice players as first choice. Still when you have the likes of Quinlan and Cullen to come in it shows the strength in depth that you have.

England haven't played particularly well this year either and there's no doubt that your boys will be able to put them under more pressure that we or the italians did in making them look decidedly beatable.

ya, the english complain when they miss johnson when ireland are missing wood(world player of the year 2001), wallace(the best ball carrier in the northern hemisphere according to george hook), reggie corrigan and a match fit paul o' connell. we ain't doing to bad at all considering that's half of the pack. we are also missing dempsey. murphy is doing a fantastic job but he could do far more attacking on the wing.
