What music software/soundcards do people use?

    I use:

    Cubase 5.0
    Reaktor 3 (which absolutely rocks)
+ a few other free VST plugins.... mostly those given away by computer music, the otherwise quite rubbish magazine that i mistakenly subscribed to...

Theres a M-Audio Delta 66 (wicked card!) in one box and an Audigy in the other.

    What about y'all?

not a breeze what soundcard i have, at the end of the day im not particularly into throwin away money on top of the range gear thats no more useful than what i have

Reason 2, Digi Performer and Protools free.

Reason 2 mainly because it runs on OsX nicely.

Thanks for that gordon, a friend had asked me to get him refills, I thought soulseek would make it easier being its a brillant music app program..

LOL, guess who loves Google! Most posts I've seen by Gordon are replies with a Google link :p

    Keep it up...

    It is what it's.

Well, as Denis Leary said when he got his home cinema system: "It's got yer DVD, yer VCR, yer Surround Sound, and a subwoofer so big that the ground REALLY shakes when you're watching Jurrasic Park, and a load of other things that I've no idea what they're even for but they just look really cool!"

    Personally, I'm into recording music.
I shall be able to plug a decent mic into my PC once I get the new soundcard and junk.
I also got a load of other peices of crap like a drum machine, and god knows what.
Although, I usually end up doing the drums on my Yamaha anyway.

You see you have a purpose for having them. I just fart about with them cutting up mp3s and sticking them together.
Actually thats the reason I got Goldwave (the first I got of the above programs), so I could cut bits out of mp3s like stupid intros that arent needed.
So I also have an mp3 encoder because Goldwave cant save as .mp3 so that's another bit of software I suppose. The name of the encoder is BladeEnc or Lame or something like that.

Thanks Makaveli, actually I just finished updating it a bit more (switched the music section to a java tree menu so it's a LOT easier to get around).

I dont know off the top of my head, I bought it all over the space of about 10 months. I was working in Angola at the time and kept buying new toys for each month I was home, barely used them until I quit there last summer (unfortunately most of the toy buyage came to an end then too :( ). Out of the of Synths give me Z3ta+, Atmosphere and Dr008 and I'd be happy.

Bit late to this one....my set up is

    Soundblaster Live

    with Cakewalk Express Gold 6
Cakewalk Plasma, Cubase 5 VST demo.

    Samplitude Basic, Soundforge XP.

FM7 demo, Absynth demo, synth1, mda piano,
Crazy Diamonds, Sampletank, plus several others.

BBE Sonic maximizer, Magneto, Northpole, plus a few others.

Dont underestimate the use of demos! Amazing what one can do in 20 mins if you have to...:D

    Mike.
