Any ideas what to get, where to get it?

What you need is a transparency hood for your scanner.
This is basically a light source which sits above the slide, therefore illuminating said slide.
Imagine the scanner lid with a light panel built in.

What is the exact model of your scanjet?
I think we have a transparency hood for a HP scanner in work, it's never used.

P.S. don't expect great results, typically flatbed scanners are 1200dpi (I think) which is not really enough for a slide, particularly 35mm.

Here's what a HP transparency hood looks like:

    It's a ScanJet 4470c (I have one for 35mm transparencies but not for 120).

I just want it for scanning in for web use or so print them out to show ppl before printing them.

Are you sure there is a difference?
Are you just talking about mounting for the slides?
If so, is it not possible just to lay the 120 slide down onto the bed of the scanner with the hood above it?
