Immigration/Retiring????

Has anyones parents, friends or family members immigrated or retired to another country? U see the thing is, my parents want to sell everything and immigrate to the states and I dunno if this is a good thing or not. They have a small business here, nice house and stuff and Im afraid they might be worse off if they move. I know health wise it will be an excellent decision but Im just not sure in every other way. We(the kids) are all left home and its not as if they have to look after anyone. Im really confused and a small bit worried. They want to go to a little town or beach resort in the states and maybe open up a little restaurant or something. Has anyone had any experience with this or even know where in the states people go when they want to retire.

    Good or Bad Idea?
Wheres the best place to go?
    Anyone have Previous experiences?

Ireland has a social security agreement with the US, however they may loose out hugely when it comes to health care (free medical card to all over 70s here) which is vastly more expensive. Fair enough if they are (very) well off, but otherwise its not a move I'd make.

If you want to blackmail them into staying, just claim you got the girlfriend pregnant (then again that might provoke a heart attack).
