In the Commens the anti-war ammendment was defeated comfortably with about 220 voting for the anti-war ammentment. It seems the Labour numbers were pretty much the same as in the vote 2 weeks back...

The vote FOR allowing UK troops to fight is being taken now...

    Mike.

ps does the dail seem ever more a place of mumbling, shuffling, toss-pots every time we see the UK parliment during times of crisis?

It saddens me that Blair won by such a huge majority in the overall vote - only 129 voted against.

Actually it was 149 in the main vote, 412 votes to 149.

Still thats democracy for you... ;)

    Mike.

whenever they are there yes. they always seem to be on some sort of holiday. didn't they get a week off for St. Patricks Day. this is an absolute disgrace. but the poor sods are being called back early so Berties can get his views on the upcoming war across. can that man not say anything without shuffling through pages looking for an answer. TD's should work the same amount of days as everyone else  and why is the Dáil nearly always barely half full

What was the breakdown of votes in Tory/Labour?

Cant say for sure Hobbes...I know that the labor rebels needed 165 votes in order for Blair to require the Tory Votes...which thankfully for Blair didnt happen
