Or would you ever buy an already painted/ assembled army?
How much would you pay for say a 1000 point 40k or fantasty army. Like the retail price plus what percent extra to have it all painted etc?
Just curious, thinking about selling off a few of my armies or maybe I'm just looking for an incentive to actually putting some of them together !

    :D

Unless there painted damn well, the price would normally drop for them, so a 500euro army would probably sell for nearer to 300 or so. But if your a great painter you could double your money or so, I know theres a few professional painters who you can send your model to and they'll paint them for you for a price (a friend paid £60 to get his land raider done), but I dont think many people do the like of that :)

Never have bought other people's work as I always prefered mine tbh. Painting your mini's is part of the hobby and is something that add's a little something to every army you play against. I used to add friend's names to the sheilds or weapons of my army's or pop in a superman logo to spice up that black orc warrior model.

Makes it slightly more personal. I care when one of my better looking models bites the dust, I always try to remove the less impressively painted models as casualties first (unless they carry big guns!)

id ahve to agree im by no means the best painter in the world in fact id say that im crap but still half the fun of it all is sitting down and figuring out exactly how im going to paint my minutures. i might consider asking a frient to help me paint some of my more numerous models but other than that i wouldnt pay to have them done.

I wouldn't buy a prepainted army. Painting is definately half the fun for me.

I concur!!! I'm usually very lazy when it comes to paintin but its so satisfying when you look at an army or even a single unit that you've just painted and when the army is fully painted its just YYEEAAAHHH!!!!!!!:D

Aw :( I'm sure we could organise games here, assuming you don't live in outer mongolia.

    I wouldn't buy pre-painted.

Fair enough your army looks **** when you first start painting them, but eventually your painting skills improve and you can increase the sense of pride you have with your army.

Thats a 5hour+ drive away m8, and no1 i know drives and plays warhammer, so not a chance of gettin anywhere near it and still have time to play. And I dont like the idea of bringin £400 worth of models on a bus (the nearest train station to me is about 40mile). So unless someone from up this end is going, not a hope in hell :(

Is there a Games Workshop nearby you? Some of the guys in there might be heading down to Cork for it.

    Worth a shot..
