My other half was in NY recently part business part pleasure. He was shopping in a very large electrical storehe compared it to Dixons or the like when he spotted a lap-top on special $800 reduced from $3000. His mate told him it was a bargain so knowing that i wanted a laptop lashed out the credit card and bought it. The assistants were very helpful selling him a leather case for it for a bargain price. He told them he was heading back to Ireland the next day.. big mistake. As they were showing him the case they made the switch. When he got back to the hotel he opened the case and it was a battered second hand laptop. He is a member of an international police force and was over in ny to march in the paddys day parade in new jersey with their police force. He called on their help and was involved in a police raid on the premises to recover his money. The NYPD told him that it was a very common occurence even in major stores in NY. He got his money back even though they denied that they had done a swap. Just a warning to anyone buying anything of value to check before they leave the shop.
    gonk
