    the witch was the Wurligee Witch (probly spelt wrong)
    and her cat was ... couldn't even find out by Googling ! it will come to me eventually...

    Ah, twas the Whirligig witch. Explains the circular motions she made with her hands when casting spells you see. Everyone (else) remembers it as the Whirligee witch though for some reason (probably because we were all six or thereabouts at the time)

    I'm pretty sure it was Spooky the cat. Just get a good mental picture of Whirligig and Spooky singing "We're nasty, we're nasty, we're horrid and wicked and bad".

    I used to work for the Whirligig Witch once, but that's a whole other story...

    So Far So Good (in theatre these days I gather) was the bloke and Slightly Bonkers was the slightly chubby chick.
