Toca Race Driver is one of the most fantastic racing sims I've ever played. I strongly reccomeend it to anyone!

If you mean PS2 version, er!!! while its fun with poor gfx its driving model is by no means a sim.

there have been a few leaked demos floating around for the last 6 months or so. i tried one of them a while back.

system reqs. are astonishing. the most demanding race games on the pc are nascar thunder 2003 and f1 2002.
both of these ran quite well on my system until you actually stared adding some computer controlled drivers then the frame rates started to suffer.

this demo had a time trial and a race with 5 ai cars. on the time trial i was averaging about 7-8fps during the race it was somewhere around the same performance as the doom3 leak.

that said eye candy was pretty sweet but let down by poor handeling and very poor ai(but its hard to tell at 1fps).

tbh it is a discrace to the good name of toca and toca 2(never played toca world touring cars). but it was still a very early demo so im not going to make that a final judgment a totally write off the game.

I watched a mivie file for race driver yesterday for the pc and it looked class but then it was only a movie on the extras for prject IGI2! But it looks like it could be the next big racing game for the PC.
There was also a movie file of Colin Mcrea 3, is this getting a PC release does anyone know?

OK i got toca race driver for the PC and i have to say its class! Ive only played a few races of it with my wheel but the speed of it is amazing! The graphics are great as well! I dident like how it handled with the wheel, there was a huge dead zone but i may be able to change that in the settings!

Any on else played the PC vesion with a wheel?

Yep i tried it for a solid weekend and tried to like it.
Graphics are superb with fantastic framerate.
AI are terrible as is the controls.
    Sounds are nice.
If i never played the like of GPL,Nascar 2003/2003 or GTR 2002 i might have liked it.
After playing it for a whole weekend i went back to GTR 2002 and as soon as i exited the pits at Spa it was evident how poor Race driver really is,simply put its ok but light years behind the above mentioned [ and i do mean light years]

Yeah great game even better noe that i changed the wheel settings for it! It had a huge dead zone by default! I hear the is a patch out for it already that improves the wheel handeling so i may go look for it now!
